What is an Amazon listing audit?

An Amazon listing audit is a systematic evaluation of a product listing's key elements: title quality, image count, pricing, BuyBox ownership, Prime eligibility, brand registry, and sales rank. Each element directly impacts conversion rate and organic search visibility.

Sellers often don't realize their listing has critical gaps. A missing BuyBox means the "Add to Cart" button shows a competitor's offer. Too few images kill conversion. A weak title means shoppers never find the listing in the first place.

How the scoring works

This audit scores listings on a 100-point scale across seven dimensions, weighted by their impact on conversion and discoverability:

Images (25 points)

Amazon recommends 7+ images per listing. Listings with 7 images convert significantly better than those with fewer. We count unique image variants (excluding swatches) to give you an accurate count.

BuyBox (20 points)

Over 80% of Amazon sales go through the BuyBox. If your listing doesn't have an active BuyBox, it may show "Currently Unavailable" — even if you have inventory. This is the most critical factor for sales.

Title (15 points)

Optimal titles are 80-200 characters. Too short means missing keywords. Too long gets truncated in search results. The title is your primary SEO asset on Amazon.

Prime / FBA (15 points)

Prime-eligible listings convert 2-3x better than FBM listings. The Prime badge signals trust, fast delivery, and easy returns to shoppers.

Brand, BSR, Product Type (30 points combined)

Brand Registry protects your listing from hijackers. BSR (Best Sellers Rank) indicates sales velocity. Proper product type categorization ensures your listing appears in the right browse nodes.

Frequently asked questions

What is an Amazon listing audit?
An Amazon listing audit evaluates key elements of a product listing — title, images, pricing, BuyBox status, Prime eligibility, brand registry, and sales rank — to identify issues that may be hurting conversion rates and search visibility.
What is a good listing quality score?
A score of 80+ out of 100 is considered STRONG. Scores between 60-79 are GOOD but have room for improvement. Below 60 means the listing NEEDS WORK, and below 40 is CRITICAL — likely losing significant sales to competitors.
Why is BuyBox important for Amazon sellers?
The BuyBox is the "Add to Cart" button on Amazon product pages. Over 80% of sales go through the BuyBox. If you don't have it, your listing may show "Currently Unavailable" or buyers see a competitor's offer instead.
Can I audit competitor listings?
Yes. Enter any ASIN on Amazon US marketplace and get the same quality audit. This is useful for competitive analysis — see what your competitors are doing well and where they have gaps you can exploit.
Is this tool free?
Yes, the ASIN leak preview is free. It uses publicly visible signals at scan time. Snapshot may change. For evidence and ready-to-paste fixes, unlock the Instant Deep Audit.
